NYU Abu Dhabi (NYUAD) is New York University’s degree-granting campus in the UAE. Its undergraduate financial aid is need-based: the amount you receive is based on your and your family’s demonstrated financial need, which the Office of Financial Aid calculates from the CSS Profile. NYUAD accepts financial aid applications from all students, regardless of citizenship, so applicants from the GCC, the wider Arab world and elsewhere are assessed the same way.
What the aid does: grants (which are not repaid) are deducted automatically from your direct charges each semester. Direct charges are tuition, books, student health insurance, housing and food, estimated at USD 84,520 for 2026-27. Indirect costs, estimated at USD 5,914 for personal expenses and transportation, are not billed by the university and stay your responsibility. NYUAD Travel Support, often called home travel, is a resource for eligible students; if your aid offer does not include it, you arrange your own flight to campus. Any financial support from an external source is considered when NYUAD sets your aid amount. The total estimated cost of attendance for 2026-27 is USD 90,434.
UAE nationals and children of an Emirati mother or father are funded differently: the Abu Dhabi government provides scholarships to all admitted students in this group, who may also receive a need-based personal support award called Falcon Dirhams.
Admission rounds for Fall 2027 entry (all deadlines at 11:59 pm EST):
– Early Decision I: apply by 1 November 2026; decision 15 December
– Early Decision II: apply by 1 January 2027; decision 15 February
– Regular Decision: apply by 5 January 2027; decision 1 April
Financial aid deadlines: the CSS Profile must be submitted by 10 November 2026 for Early Decision I, 10 January 2027 for Early Decision II, and 1 February 2027 for Regular Decision.
How to complete the aid application: the CSS Profile opens at collegeboard.org on 1 October each year; use NYU’s school code 2785. If your parents are unmarried or separated, both the custodial and noncustodial parent must submit their own CSS Profile. Supporting documents go through IDOC as instructed by NYUAD. The CSS Profile costs USD 25 for the first institution and USD 16 for each additional one; fee waivers are available for students facing financial hardship. Keep a record of your username and password and copies of everything you submit.
